Since version of Unimus 2.6.0 is introduce option for users to manage their own account. Option is available from the top bar situated in the dashboard view

Change password

Users have the option to change the password assigned to their account by the administrator. The process is simple and requires entering the current password, specifying a new password, and confirming the new password by re-entering it.

Please note that this option is available only for local accounts, while passwords for LDAP and RADIUS must still be managed externally.

Multi-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to your account. Follow these steps to enable it:

  1. Enter your account password.
  2. Open your authentication app and either scan the generated QR code or use the provided security key.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app.
  4. Verify the information by clicking the confirmation button.

Once completed, MFA will be activated. Additionally, five one-time backup codes will be generated, which can be used to access your account even if you lose your mobile device.

With MFA enabled, each future login to Unimus will require entering of generated TOTP code. To skip this additional step, you can select the "Remember device for one month" option on the login screen.

You can easily disable MFA by selecting the appropriate option in the "Multi-factor Authentication" settings and entering your account password.
